Two-weeks-old and testing the parents
Feb 12

We’re two weeks into this adventure, and we’re still trying to figure lil’ bear out. One night he sleeps really well and only wakes to eat. The next night he cries for hours and only calms down when held, which means mom sits in a chair all night rocking…rocking…rocking. That’s what happened last night, and with only two hours of sleep (both of which were uncomfortably spent with my head at a weird angle), this post might not be the most coherent.
Lil’ bear had his two-week checkup at the pediatrician, and the surprising news was there was no change in weight. How is that possible? I feel like this dairy cow has been plugged in for hours on end, but I guess it’s more of a soothing mechanism than a feeding mechanism. That means we are upping the pumping.
We have also been visited by several folks including lil’ bear’s aunt, cousin and grandparents.

We had a short little photoshoot to capture the two-week birthday, and I think this kid is a natural. This is a face I could just stare at all day long.

Lil’ bear has the far-off stare down pat.

His sneezes are even cute.

Gotta capture that cross-eyed newborn look.

Sweet goodness he looks so much like Nathan it’s uncanny!
