Ugh..that does not sound fun (39 weeks)
Jan 21
We are getting to the end, folks. The final countdown has begun. Actually, I probably started counting down right when I hit 37 weeks, but this baby seems to be happy where he is at.
I went for my 39 week appointment this morning, and I’m still stuck at the 1.5ish cm dilated. I know it can happen quickly, especially with the second pregnancy, but I was hoping to be a tad further than that.
I did have to laugh as I was up in the “position.” See, I wore a long dress today with my kick-ass black knee boots and some super sexy over the knee socks. I was too lazy to take off the boots and socks, so I was all up on that table, dress hiked up to my waist, boots and socks peeking out under the sheet they give you to cover up. I figure they have probably seen it all and probably much worse in regards to fashion statements. It had to be hot.

Not at the doctors office but just wanted to give you a better visual
It’s not that I don’t want to be pregnant anymore or that this has been a hard pregnancy. Just like with the lil’ man before him, this baby and pregnancy have been relatively smooth. It’s just that I’m a tad uncomfortable. I remember having some aches and pains down there in that region with my first pregnancy, but this one has just been intensified a bit. The doc says it’s normal, but man, that area just sometimes does not like it when I stand up, walk, lay down, move, anything.
Hopefully, that means it is getting ready for delivery. As I mentioned before, I’m shooting for a VBAC. All the doctors in the practice are supportive, except one. There is always one. She is not my normal doctor, but they make patients rotate. When I saw her, she went into all the statistics about how it’s highly unlikely that I will be able to have a VBAC and how it looks like this one is a big baby as well. So just in case I have a back-up c-section scheduled for after the delivery date. Don’t worry, I’m doing everything I can to go into labor before that.
Well, maybe not everything. I asked the doc what I could do to possibly move things along. Her response…walk and sex. Yeah because with the painfully sore nether regions I’m already sporting, having sex sounds great right now. About as appetizing as a week-old dead fish head marinating in pickle juice covered in whipped cream and chocolate. Throw some nuts on it, and you’ve got dessert.
Anyway, I think there will be a lot of walking in my near future.
Anyone have any other thoughts on moving things along?

You need to tell that doctor to leave the room if she bothers to show up for your delivery. She also needs to re-read her statistics because she is wrong and clearly has her own interest at heart (aka getting paid more for a c-section). *steps off soap box* Eat spicy food, that’s supposed to help get things moving. I’m praying you get the VBAC you want. And that the crazy doctor lady minds her own business…
