Run Rebecca Run
Dec 04
For the third year in a row, I participated in the Jingle Bell Run. It’s a fun 5k that supports the Arthritis Foundation. This year, I had a goal. After last year’s race, when I walked the entire thing (I had just had a baby) I set a goal that I would run the next one. If you follow me, you know I’ve been trying to lose weight through working out and eating right. So far it’s still going good, and I’ve been running as part of the whole working out thing.
I’ve participated in a couple 5Ks already this year, but I had not run an entire 5k. There was always a portion I walked…until today. This morning I ran the entire race. I must say that I’m pretty darn proud of myself.
Now while I did run the entire thing, I will not say I ran super fast. It was a personal best time, but I was more the tortoise rather than the hare with a time of 34 minutes and 56 seconds.
Yeah, I didn’t place, but that wasn’t the point.
Did I mention I was also pushing a stroller? Yep, the lil’ man took a little 5K roll, cheering mom on every now and then.
